Guilford County Sheriff's Office

The Guilford County Sheriff's Office consists of numerous sections and divisions which are responsible for augmenting and facilitating other divisions of the department, to better serve the citizens of the county.

Chief Deputy Colonel T. R. Powers serves as commander of the daily operations of the Guilford County Sheriff's Office.

The Operations Bureau is responsible for functions such as patrol operations, criminal investigations, pistol permits, concealed carry permits, sex offender registration, records management for the entire department, and other special projects for the department and county.

Major J. T. Sheppard serves as the commander of the Operations Bureau.

The Court Services Bureau is responsible for functions such as the detention centers, transportation of inmates and court room security.

The Support Services Bureau is responsible for functions such as recruitment, hiring, training, crime prevention, technical and information services, public services, community services.

Major D. F. Montgomery serves as the commander of the Court Services and Support Services Bureau.
